Xeros and Lanxess complete the first phase of water-saving development

11/08/2015
Xeros Technology Group, the UK start-up that has developed a patented polymer bead system that it claims can save large volumes of water in leather production, has announced that the first phase of its joint development with leather chemicals manufacturer Lanxess is now complete.

Other phases of the development will follow during the second half of 2015.

The system centres on replacing a large proportion of the water tanners traditionally use in the tanning process with polymer beads that Xeros has already used successfully in the laundry business.
