Leather industry figures seek Peru-India tie-up

Leather and leathergoods featured prominently at a two-day exhibition and business roundtable event that took place in Lima on July 23 and 24 to promote stronger ties between host country Peru and India.

In an address at the start of the event, India’s ambassador to Peru, Sandeep Chakravorty, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for partners in both countries to find ways to work more closely together.” He mentioned specifically high demand among tanners in India for raw material from Peru.

Fourteen leather-sector business leaders travelled from India for the Lima event, which included face-to-face meetings with potential Peruvian partners.
