Biosk takes wastewater saving technology to the US

The result of ten years’ research and development, Biosk’s system has won six patents in China and has already been adopted by several tanneries there.
It works by adjusting processes and introducing special chemical agents to achieve benefits such as reductions of up to 70% in the volume of chrome sludge, lime sludge and wastewater discharge in tanneries. Other benefits are that there is almost no wastewater discharge in liming, and a reduction in water usage of more than 70% in pickling and chrome tanning.
Tanners using the recycling technology have also reported savings in environmental treatment operations of more than 50% in the land required, of more than 70% in the use of chemicals and of more than 70% in labour costs.
