Lamborghini promises boost to Italian and international suppliers with new SUV
Italian automotive brand Lamborghini has announced a new luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) that it will incorporate into its product range in 2018, increasing the range from two models to three.  A concept of the new car was first presented as the Lamborghini Urus at the Beijing Auto Show in 2012.

The new vehicle will be produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese in Italy, meaning a substantial increase in the production capacity of the factory there. Over the lifecycle of the new vehicle, the company has said it will invest hundreds of millions of euros.

On making the announcement, Lamborghini chief executive, Stephan Winkelmann, said it represented the beginning of a new era for the brand and would demonstrate Audi

A luxury SUV will see Lamborghini challenge what the company called “an unexploited, fast-growing and fascinating car segment”. Annual production volumes will be around 3,000 vehicles, which will double the company’s current output.
