Mixed news for leather in first ten months of Pakistan’s financial year

Tanners across Pakistan exported 17.9 million square-metres of finished leather, achieving export earnings of $407 million. These figures represent declines of 23.8% in volume and of 7.2% in value compared to the first ten months of the previous financial year.
For footwear exports the news was mixed. There was a decline year on year in volumes, falling by 8.9% to 11.5 million pairs, but values were up, by 12.9% to reach $108.6 million.
