Bootmakers in Venezuela offered help in buying raw materials

Leather boots are among the products for which manufacturers will receive preferential treatment from the Venezuelan government as it seeks to take its non-oil exports past the $10 billion mark within two years.

Commerce minister, Isabel Delgado, said in a press release at the end of March that her department wanted all manufacturers in Venezuela with export potential to increase their levels of overseas sales. Help will include a finance programme for raw materials and funding to help producers invest in new technology.
