Decline in leather demand began almost one year ago
The latest issue of our exclusive Leather Pipeline and Market Intelligence report in Leatherbiz Weekly (March 24) says there has been a decline in leather demand since the second quarter of 2014.

The report confirms that there is “stable and positive demand” from the automotive industry, but says this cannot compensate for the decline in other sectors, evident in the spring-summer 2015 footwear collections that are now in retail stores, with many shoes that contain little or no leather.
