Fimec’s Factory Concept shows the path to growth, organiser claims

Organisers of the Fimec exhibition in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil, have said the Factory Concept component of the 2015 edition, which took place in mid-March, was successful in its efforts to demonstrate to visitors to the fair good examples of co-operation in the footwear supply chain.

Factory Concept aims to showcase examples of footwear producers working in close partnership with raw materials and machinery suppliers to produce high-quality finished products in a high-tech environment.

Elivir Desiam, president of organiser Fenac, said at the end of the exhibition: “We are certain the this sector can grow in the domestic Brazilian market and overseas. For this to happen, it’s fundamental for companies to work together, to invest in innovation and to keep carrying out research.” He said the Factory Concept shows this is possible.
