New El.Pa system could save tanners 500 hours’ downtime per year

Called ACS, the development is a system for quick colour change on spraying lines, which the company says is allowing tanners in Brazil, Russia and China, as well as in Italy to increase productivity in their finishing plants thanks to a large decrease in downtime.
Speaking at TanningTech 2015, the company’s Guide Frizzarin told leatherbiz that most finishing lines undergo around eight colour changes per day, with each one taking between 10 and 25 minutes to complete. ACS avoids this because the system can load a second colour while still spraying the first, with a quick, automated washing function running in between.
Early results from the tanners who have adopted the system so far have been positive and Mr Frizzarin estimates that the new system will be able to save tanners 500 hours of downtime on their finishing lines each year.
