Powerful new leatherbiz column launches

David Peters is a well known industry expert. He has more than 40 years of executive and management experience in the hide and leather sectors, through which he has developed a deep functional and operational expertise throughout the entire leather supply chain.
His knowledge extends from cattle breeds, through slaughterhouse operations, hide removal, tannery processes, sourcing optimisation, supply chain management, leather production and the administrative umbrella required to manage this globally traded raw material.
His career began in London, thereafter continuing in the Netherlands and several cities in the United States. He has travelled extensively in South America, Europe and Asia developing relationships with the main producers both of hides and leather in all these markets. He has held senior positions with hide and leather companies including ConAgra, GST Autoleather and, most recently, Twin City Hide, all businesses that are best-in-class in their respective market segments. He now runs specialist consultancy, DLP Advisors, and is based in the US.
His first column, entitled ‘Automotive provides the good news’, went into the leatherbiz blog section on February 17 and featured in that day’s edition of Leatherbiz Weekly.
