Kering breaks the €10 billion barrier

Luxury group Kering has reported consolidated revenue of just over €10 billion for 2014, a 4.5% increase on the previous year’s figures on a comparable basis.

The group’s luxury activities, which include sales of luxury leathergoods brands such as Bottega Veneta, Sergio Rossi, Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci, achieved sales of €6.7 billion last year, an increase of 4.9% on the figures for 2013.

Chief executive, François-Henri Pinault, said on announcing the results: “The dynamic sales growth and increase in operating income of the group’s luxury activities confirm the relevance of our multi-brand model and demonstrate our ability to unlock the potential of each our brands, exploit their complementarity, and nurture their development.”

Among the luxury brands, Gucci recorded a decline in sales of 1.8% but still produced the highest revenues in 2014 at almost €3.5 billion. Bottega Veneta came next with more than €1.1 billion, growth of 11.3%, followed by Yves Saint Laurent with €707.3 billion, growth of 27%.

Other luxury brands in the Kering portfolio collectively brought in revenues of more than €1.4 billion, an increase of 14.4% compared to last year.
