Statistics from market research group Euromonitor International suggest that the value of trade in leather and leathergoods in the GCC, the Gulf Cooperation Council, reached almost $4 billion in 2013.

Euromonitor’s figures include imports and exports of hides, skins, semi-finished and finished leather and finished products across all six GCC states.

The United Arab Emirates contributed most to the total, with almost $2 billion, while Saudi Arabia’s contribution was another $1.1 billion.
