Car interiors company will train its own leather experts

A specialist developer of bespoke leather car interiors has launched a new internal training programme to develop a new generation of automotive leather professionals.

Based in Villers-Cotterêt, one hour north of Paris, Cuir Auto Shop specialises in furnishing high-end cars with bespoke leather upholstery for seats, door panels and other parts of the vehicle interior.

It announced its new training academy at the start of the year, saying it hoped to attract young people from the local area and to help them become multi-skilled, working throughout the company’s design studio, leather-cutting and stitching workshop and in its fitting and assembly operation.

Chief executive, Diane Deblyck, said at the time of the announcement that she was offering new recruits an opportunity to learn “specific skills in an environment of excellence”.
