He will take up his new post at the start of January 2015 and will succeed Mauro Muzzolon, who is to retire.
“This is a particularly delicate period for the sector,” Mr Sole´ said at the time of the announcement. “The momentum of our export business is being slowed down by difficulties in a number of our most important markets, particularly Russia, while there is still no sign of the long-suffering domestic market picking up.”
