Luxury car market still seeing double-digit growth in China, report says

Shanghai-based research group Hurun, which specialises in analysing the luxury sector in China, has said that the Chinese luxury car market is continuing to experience double-digit growth, in spite of increased control on emissions and cut-banks on other forms of ostentation.

Hurun recently published a new report entitled Luxury Car Brands in China 2014. In follow-up interviews in Chinese business media, Hurun is reported to have said that 1.1 million imported luxury passenger cars were registered in China in 2013, compared to 1.7 million in the US. However, it said it expected 2014 sales figures to show growth of between 10% and 15%.
