Igualada tanner acquires new site as part of expansion plan

Reports from Spain suggest Igualada-based tanning group Curtidos Badia has completed the acquisition of a 6,500 square-metre facility in the Catalan town and is to embark on an expansion plan.

The new site was previously used by another local tanner, Curtidos Farrés, which went into administration in 2011.

Curtidos Badia told local media that it would use the extra space to set up a new research and development department as well as for small production runs of high-end leather for clients, which include big-name luxury brands in France and Italy.
