COTANCE sets up Bucharest events for October

COTANCE, the leather industry’s representative body in the EU, will host the meeting in the Romanian capital on October 24.
In the summer of 2013, COTANCE had to apply at short notice to be part of the wider EU pilot project, which is aiming to present concrete facts on issues such as the carbon footprint to consumers in the EU. It succeeded in winning the support of many international leather industry bodies for this work and has said consistently that the findings of the project will benefit the whole of the global leather sector.
In parallel, COTANCE will also present in Bucharest testimonies of people working in the leather industry in Europe. This exercise, which will take place the day before, on October 23, will serve as a final event for a project called Leather Is My Job, which COTANCE has run with trade union organisation IndustriAll to encourage people in Europe to consider a career in leather production. It will comprise more than 90 testimonies from people already working in the industry.
