Assocal calls on Italian shoe brands to keep bringing their collections to Germany

In keeping with date-changes to other industry events this year, Moda Made In Italy, a Munich-based exhibition at which Italian footwear brands display their newest collections to buyers from southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria, will take place a few weeks earlier than usual this autumn.

The forty-third edition of Moda Made In Italy will take place in Munich from September 12-14, with more than 250 high-end Italian footwear companies travelling to the Bavarian city to showcase their spring-summer 2015 collections.

Offering encouragement to participating member companies before the start of the event, Italian footwear manufacturers’ association Assocalzaturifici (Assocal) pointed out that exports of shoes from Italy to Germany had increased in volume and in value in the first quarter of 2014.

In the course of the first three months of this year, Italian brands exported almost 10.4 million pairs of shoes to Germany, an increase in volume of 1.3% year on year. And with a combined value of €262 million, there was growth here too compared to the first quarter of 2013 of 1.5%.
