Good growth for Indian leather in new fiscal year

India’s leather-sector exports increased in value by 22.7% in the first three months of the current financial year, April-June 2014.

Export earnings for the sector over the three-month period were $1.6 billion.

Finished leather exports increased by 16.4% to almost $380 million, while footwear exports grew in value by almost 30% to reach $545 million.
