World Leather CEO to speak at USHSLA annual meeting and convention

The US Hide Skin and Leather Association (USHSLA) has announced the programme for its 2014 Annual Meeting and Convention, which will take place in Chicago on October 2 and 3.

Among the speakers will be the chief executive of World Leather, Simon Yarwood, who will give a presentation on the background to, and significance of, the Tannery of the Year programme, which is about to complete its fourth cycle.

Other speakers at the Chicago event will include Kerry Brozyna, vice-president and general manager for leather at footwear group Wolverine World Wide, who will speak about trends in leather footwear demand, and Lily Edwards-Callaway, head of animal welfare at packer and tanning group JBS, who will cover the topic of improving hide quality.

“We have an outstanding agenda planned for this year’s meeting, full of significant topics for companies and the hides and skins industry,” said USHSLA president, Stephen Sothmann, on announcing the agenda.
