Tannery donates fruit trees to local community

07/08/2014
Argentinean tanning group Arlei has donated 100 fruit trees to the community near its plant at Las Toscas in Santa Fe province.

Local mayor, Leandro Chamorro, said the trees would go into a special area the local authority has set up for members of the community to learn about producing fruit.

The Arlei donation, comprising 40 orange trees, 40 mandarin trees and 20 lemon trees, will double the capacity of the fruit-growing facility, which was set up in 2012 with 50 trees and is now producing its first crops.

Two representatives of the Arlei management team, Daniel Helman and Carolina Dean, took part in a planting ceremony for the new trees at the start of August.
