S.T. Dupont reports slow leathergoods sales, but the news from Russia is better

Total revenues reported by French luxury goods manufacturer S.T. Dupont in the first quarter of 2014 were flat compared to the same quarter in 2013 at €79.6 million.

However, the company’s leathergoods division reported a decline in revenues of 1.6% compared to the first quarter last year, €31.2 million in the January-March period this year compared to €31.7 million in the same period in 2013.

S.T. Dupont said this was due to declining sales in China, particularly of its belts. However, the company’s leathergoods sales in Russia were up, which it said compensated for the slowdown in China.
