São Paulo to host sustainable beef conference

Multi-stakeholder group the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (GRSB) is organising a conference in São Paulo in November at which it hopes to establish agreement among different groups on what constitutes sustainable beef and outline a future vision for the organisation.

Taking place at the WTC Events Center in the Brazilian city from November 2-5, the 2014 Global Conference on Sustainable Beef will serve as a platform for rolling out the principles and criteria for sustainable beef that GRSB announced earlier this year. Delegates will also discuss sustainable beef supply chain progress, explore strategies for communicating on sustainability with consumers, and agree the future direction and ongoing role of GRSB itself.

GRSB has said it envisions “a world in which all aspects of the beef value chain are environmentally sound, socially responsible and economically viable”.
