Bangladesh leather exports for first 11 months exceed $1 billion

Over the eleven-month period, shipments from Bangladesh of leather, leather shoes and leathergoods brought in export earnings of nearly $1.2 billion compared to just over $875 million for the same period in the previous financial year.
Leather footwear made the biggest contribution to the total with exports worth $493.8 million, an increase of 30.8%. Shipments of leather had a value of $468.6 million, which represents year-on-year growth of 29.1%, while those of leathergoods grew in value by nearly 60% to reach $218.1 million.
