Further changes at Les Tanneries du Puy
20/06/2014
Having gone into administration in April 2010, the company was acquired by new owners in the summer of 2011. Representing a holding company called EPI, which has close links to luxury footwear brand Weston, Denis Lemercier became its new managing director.
New reports on June 19 say that Mr Lemercier left his post in mid-May and insist that the local authorities in Le Puy-en-Velay, the town where the company is based, have confirmed the arrival of a new managing director, named as Daniel Lebard.
Mr Lebard is described as being someone else with long-standing business ties to EPI and someone with a reputation for carrying out quick transformations of struggling businesses, either turning them around fast or closing them down.
Leatherbiz asked the company on June 20 to confirm these reports, but we still await a response.
