Tax credits to return for exporting companies in Brazil

19/06/2014
Reports from Brazil have said the federal government will restore a programme called Reintegra, which offers a package of incentives to exporting companies. The government removed the package for 2014, saying it had cost the public purse too much money the previous year.

The Folha de São Paulo journal said the president, Dilma Rousseff, had met business leaders in mid-June to discuss the incentives she would build into Reintegra this time. It said that finance minister, Guido Mantega had confirmed that the meeting went ahead.

Exporting companies will receive tax credits to the value of up to 3% of the export revenues they bring into Brazil.
