Still led by Huub van Beijeren, who joined Stahl as chief executive in 2007, the management team now includes two former managers of the Clariant leather services business: Harald Bauer and Ralph Blach, who were, respectively, global head of marketing and sales and head of marketing and application development at Clariant’s leather business unit.
The new team’s full line-up is as follows:
- Huub van Beijeren, chief executive officer
- Bram Drexhage, chief financial officer
- Jacques Potier, group director of procurement
- Guido Borgart, group director of operations and supply line
- Harald Bauer, group director of wet end, chemicals and dyes
- Mark Chatwood, group director of automotive leather chemicals
- John Fletcher, group director of leather finish
- Uwe Siebgens, group director of performance coatings
- Ralph Blach, group director, R&D and technical application.
In a statement announcing the changes, Stahl emphasised that the Clariant acquisition will allow it to service the entire leather processing chain. It also said the main priority for the new manamgent will be on “innovation towards a more sustainable future”, with the aim of helping to make the entire leather supply chain more sustainable.
Stahl now has more than 1,800 employees at 11 manufacturing sites and 38 laboratories in 23 countries and expects to achieve annual turnover of more than €600 million. “Thanks to the acquisition, we have become the leading market player in chemicals for leather products in terms of knowledge, expertise and range of technical solutions,” said Huub van Beijeren in the statement. “As we expand our market and product coverage, we will be able to boost our innovation power, sustainability expertise and service levels. This will enable us to respond even better to our clients’ needs.”
