Tanners take the trophy in Portuguese business competition

The event, which comprises different physical and mental challenges, takes place each year. It was launched nearly 20 years ago by a Santarém business association to encourage team-building and networking among local companies.
This year, more than 120 people took part in teams of five, representing local businesses from a wide range of sectors. Activities included running, cycling and canoeing challanges.
Couro Azul emerged as the winner.
The tannery, which specialises in automotive leather, is part of the Carvalhos Group and is a finalist for Europe in the fourth programme of the Tannery of the Year competition, which will reach its conclusion at a gala dinner in Shanghai on September 3.
