Major national honour for Italian tanning industry leader
28/05/2014
Every year on 1 June, the president of Italy invests 25 new business people from a shortlist of 40 candidates with the title. Giancarlo Dani, chief executive of Arzignano-based Gruppo Dani, is listed among the men and women from all areas of agriculture, industry and commerce and from all regions of Italy who have won the award this year.
Gruppo Dani, which was founded in 1950, has been a pioneer in social, environmental and research projects in the Italian leather industry. In 2013, it received the Highly Commended award for Europe in the third Tannery of the Year programme.
“In committing ourselves to these developments, I hope we can be an example for tanning companies in the future as the industry moves forward,” Giancarlo Dani said at the time. “We don’t want to be special. We just want to be considered a business with a vision for the future.”
