Argentina: slaughter levels and cattle weight down in April

Argentina’s cattle slaughter for the month of April was just over 1 million head, a decline of 2.3% compared to the same month in 2013.

Official statistics for meat production also suggest a decline in weight of the cattle coming to slaughter. Total meat production for April 2014 was 222,000 tonnes, 5.4% down on the same month last year.
