Speaking after the conclusion of the deal, Stahl’s chief executive, Huub van Beijeren, explained that it included taking over from Clariant manufacturing sites in Germany, Italy and India and laboratories in several other locations. In addition, 570 Clariant employees have now entered into Stahl’s employment.
Now, in total, Stahl has more than 1,800 employees at 11 manufacturing sites and 38 laboratories in 23 countries. The company expects its annual turnover to exceed €600 million. “We have become the leading market player in chemicals for leather products in terms of knowledge, expertise and range of technical solutions,” Mr van Beijeren claimed. He said Stahl’s expansion would mean a boost for its ability to bring innovative products to market, while also increasing its ability to offer good service to clients.
Specifically, he said Stahl’s focus on sustainability would increase and that the company will make innovation as a means for the leather industry to secure a sustainable future as its main priority in the months ahead. “Now that we have combined our forces, we are able to accelerate the process of making the entire leather processing chain more sustainable,” Mr van Beijeren concluded.
