Good growth in last three quarters for Pakistan leather industry

Pakistan’s leather industry recorded a 13.5% increase in export sales in the first nine months of the current financial year compared to the same period a year earlier.

Between July 2013 and March 2014, the industry achieved export revenues of $943.9 million.

Of this total, leathergoods contributed $472.1 million, leather exports $386.8 million and leather footwear exports $84.8 million.

These figures represent year-on-year growth of 13%, 14.5% and 7.7% respectively.
