Fourth Tannery of the Year programme: Americas shortlist named
World Leather magazine is pleased to announce shortlisted candidates for the Americas for the 2013-2014 Tannery of the Year competition, aiming to find the best examples of tanneries across the world that have built the principles of corporate social responsibility into their way of working.

This fourth Tannery of the Year programme will culminate in a glamorous awards evening in Shanghai in September 2014. There is an open invitation to the entire global leather industry to attend and share the celebrations.

World Leather is grateful for the important backing Tannery of the Year has from sponsors BASF, Buckman and Lanxess, and the support of the International Council of Tanners, the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, as well as from the APLF exhibition.

We can reveal the list of eight shortlisted tanneries from the Americas, from which two finalists will come. The shortlisted tanneries are (in alphabetical order):

- ARTANCO, San Luis, Argentina
- Bojos Tanning, Santiago, Dominican Republic
- Curtidos Treviño, El Carmen, Nuevo León, Mexico
- Curtiembre Arlei, Lanús Este, Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Curtume Della Torre, Franca, São Paulo, Brazil
- JBS Couros, Itumbiara, Brazil
- Midori Atlântica, Penapolis, São Paulo, Brazil
- Vanzella-Vancouros, Rolândia, Paraná, Brazil

We shall announce the two finalists for this region on April 22. We wish all candidates good luck.
