Former President of New England Tanners Club dies

Paul Finnegan, a former president of the New England Tanners Club, died in February after a brief illness. He was 87.

Mr Finnegan entered the leather industry in the years immediately after World War II, after training at the Lowell Technological Institute in Massachusetts. He worked for the AC Lawrence Leather Company in Peabody, Massachusetts, first in the in-house fatliquor department, then later in the calfskin division and at the company’s side leather plant in South Paris, Maine, before becoming the company’s director of environmental affairs at corporate headquarters in Danvers, Massachusetts.

During his career, Mr Finnegan also held various offices at the American Leather Chemists Association.
