China announces minimum production level for new tanneries

It has said smaller operators should look to grow through acquisition or by amalgamating to reach the required production levels.
The ministry has said it wants to promote a “reconstruction” of the tanning industry to upgrade the country’s tanneries and establish a more sustainable leather industry.
