Another record year for Bentley Motors

Bentley Motors has registered a 19% increase in global deliveries of its luxury vehicles in 2013, with the total reaching 10,120 cars.

This figure represents a record, as did the 2012 figure of 8,510.

The Americas region maintained its number-one market position, while Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Europe (particularly Germany and the UK), posted substantial gains over the previous year, the company said. It delivered 3,140 cars to the Americas and 2,191 cars to China, which is still its second-biggest market, despite the 2013 figure being down by 2.7% compared to 2012.

Last year, Bentley also increased its global sales network by 11%, giving a total of 193 showrooms.

Chief executive, Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, said on announcing the results that 2013 marked a fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth for the company, establishing it as “the most sought-after luxury car brand in the world”. He added that he was confident 2014 will be another successful year. “People all over the world love the unique combination of luxury and performance of our cars,” he said.

Bentley published figures suggesting the global luxury car segment decreased by 6% in 2013 compared to the previous year, but said its share of the market had risen to 25% compared to 22% previously.
