18/12/2013
Northampton University is one of the few in the world offering degree courses in leather technology, which means it is attracting from all parts of the world students who want to learn about leather and build a career in the tanning industry.
Its Institute for Creative Leather Technologies offers bachelor’s degrees in leather science, as well as in the environmental, marketing or business sides of the industry. PhD and MPhil degrees are also available at postgraduate level.
The new campus will replace the university’s existing sites.
Reacting to the news, Professor Nick Petford, vice-chancellor of the university, said: “This is an ambitious project which is vital for the future of the university and the town.” He said the new campus would be in the heart of Northampton and offer “great facilities” for our students, staff and the local community.
