Brazil’s hide exports rise again in November

Brazil’s exports of hides and skins for November increased 22% in value compared with November 2012 to $215.37 million.

However, the total was 9% lower than October 2013’s record $236.908 million, according to SECEX  (the Foreign Trade Secretariat).

In terms of volume, 2.907 million bovine hides were exported in November, an increase of 13.4% compared with November 2012, when the total was 2.563 million.

China  and Hong Kong took 36.2% of Brazil’s hides, Italy imported 20.8%, and the US took 10% by value.

Among the major exporting states, Rio Grande do Sul was top with 20.2%, followed by São Paulo with 20.1%, Goiás with 12.5 %, then Paraná with 11.4 %, Ceará, 7.8% and Mato Grosso do Sul, 6.4%.
