Brazilian leather exports already surpass 2012 total

Even before the end of 2013, exports of Brazilian hides and skins have surpassed the value registered in 2012.

According to the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, the value of exports from January to November have reached a total of $2.3 billion.

For the full year 2012, exports reached $ 2.1 billion, so with a month to go, exports are already 9% higher.

When considering November 2013 alone, sales of hides and skins to the international market reached  $214 million, an increase of 22% over the same month last year. Its proportion in terms of overall exports was 1%.
