Saudi Arabia: ‘Made in Italy’ leathergoods factory closed

05/12/2013
Reports from Saudi Arabia say the government has shut down a leather factory which manufactured products bearing a ‘Made in Italy’ stamp.

The Saudi Industrial Property Authority said the factory in Riyadh was also operating without a licence.

The factory, which was reportedly owned by a foreign investor, used 18,000 locally sourced sheepskins a day to make shoes, bags and wallets.
