Ecuadorian tanners share processing knowledge

Organised by the Ecuadorian association of tanners, ANCE, with the collaboration of Ecotungurahua Cia, the 21st Technical Symposium of the Leather Industry of Ecuador focused on innovation, environment and sustainability

Held in Agua Santa city, near Ambato, representatives from the industry met to share technologies and best practices, including in cleaner production systems and waste treatment, with specialists visiting from Colombia and Germany.

Seminars included improvements in the liming process and how to use less aggressive chemicals.

The symposium received state funding and sponsors included Tannery Tungurahua, Tensoquim, ISA Engineering, Dyes Andina and Interturing.
