Bombardier still confident of new aircraft uptake

Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier has secured 177 firm orders for a new model of aircraft, the C-series.

The figure is short of an objective of 300 orders that the Montreal-based company has set itself by the time of the first deliveries, expected in 2014, but chief executive, Pierre Beaudoin, said during a visit to London in mid-November that he is still confident of hitting the target.

Bombardier C-series aircraft will each carry between 100 and 150 passengers.
