New manager for fast-growing satchel company

05/11/2013
The UK-based Cambridge Satchel Company is targeting ambitious growth with the appointment of a general manager for its new factory, which is four times the size of its previous facility.

Mark Fitzpatrick joins from luggage company Globetrotter and will lead operations at the brand’s first large-scale production unit, which will enable production to increase threefold.

Mr Fitzpatrick said: "The company has seen extraordinary success over the past five years championing craftsmanship, quality and British heritage and I'm looking forward to becoming part of the success story.”

Founder Julie Deane said: "Mark brings enormous industry knowledge and experience to the business and will be tasked with managing increases in orders and the production of the expanding collection."

The handcrafted colourful leather satchels have developed a global fan base, selling to over 110 countries since the launch of the company five years ago.

The appointment follows the launch this month of a limited-edition collection in collaboration with esteemed British designer Vivienne Westwood.
