Increases in sales for most VW brands

05/11/2013
Figures from the Volkswagen automotive group for the first nine months of 2013 show increases in sales across all passenger vehicle brands, with the exception of Skoda, compared to the same period in 2012.

Over the nine months, sales of Volkswagen cars increased by 3.6% to almost 4.4 million, while Audi vehicles registered a 7.6% increase, reaching almost 1.2 million vehicles, and sales of SEAT cars went up by 11.7% to 266,000. Skoda registered a decline of 4.5%, with sales of 685,000.

In the luxury bracket, Porsche sales reached almost 120,000 cars, although a comparison with 2012 is difficult because of changes within the group. However, the figures for Bentley show a 9.2% increase to 6,500 vehicles, while those for Lamborghini were up by 9.5% at almost 1,700 cars. There was an increase of 18.2% for Bugatti, but as so few Bugatti cars come onto the market, this represents an increase of only four vehicles, from 22 in the first three quarters of last year to 26 for the same period in 2013.
