Lear Corporation, a US-based supplier of automotive seating, has unveiled a new line of automotive leather concepts.

"With the previous launch of our Aventino leather brand and recent acquisition of Guilford Performance Textiles, Lear can now provide a wide range of seat covers," said Matt Simoncini, Lear's CEO. "We have a long history in cutting, sewing and assembling automotive seat covers. Our material capabilities now extend to a full range of custom finishing techniques, including laser etching, embroidery, embossing, perforations and polymer printing."

Ray Scott, Lear’s executive vice-president, added: "Lear performed extensive research in fashion, architecture, home interiors and pop culture trends and many of the new designs are a product of the integration of Guilford Performance Textiles in 2012 and partnerships."

Lear's leather and fabric collection incorporates six new materials including Aventino Signature, which offers customisation through perforation, embossing, laser etching and printing; and Aventino Defense, which enables light leather colour choices with dye transfer prevention and greater cleaning capability.

Lear employs 113,000 in 36 countries and is headquartered in Southfield, Michigan.
