Gucci has been awarded $144.2 million in damages from US District Court for the Southern District of Florida after successfully winning a case against a number of counterfeiters.

The complaint was filed against 100 defendants behind web domains such as guccishop.com.
Gucci CEO Patrizio di Marc said: “We are extremely pleased that the court clearly understood the dangers to consumers posed by online counterfeiting organizations and has sent a strong message that counterfeiters can expect to receive severe sanctions when caught.”
