APLF award winners announced

The prize for Best Bag Collection went to Ana Aust of China for its high-quality line of city bags that cater to the young consumer with its quirky, fun details and shapes.
For Best Bag Design, the recipient was Paris-based designer Rachel Levy-Gross of Rachel GE for her classic bag silhouettes made interesting through the creative use of luxurious leathers and furs.
Malaysian shoe brand Super Fashion Manufacturer took the award for Best Ladies’ Footwear Collection for its line of wood wedge sandals which use an unusual process of hollowing out the heels to produce more lightweight and comfortable footwear.
Best Men’s Footwear Collection was presented to LSR International of China for its beautifully crafted derbies and moccasins using the finest leather soles and uppers in unusual colour combinations, giving these shoe classics a fresh look.
Designer Arnel Papa of the Philippines was chosen as winner for Best Fashion Accessories for his dramatic collection of black and gold necklaces, bracelets and earrings, marked by his innovative and unconventional use of snakeskins, leather, wood, shells, stones and metal.
Italian exhibitor Sani Gualtiero won the award for Best Small Leathergoods Collection with its wallets, money clips and belts made of elk leather and snakeskin.
The award for Best Lifestyle Collection went to Antipear of Hong Kong for its computer bags, tablet cases and accessories made from the finest quality full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather.
Another Hong Kong company, Siu Siu Handbags, earned the prize for Best Travel Collection with its lightweight and functional travel and camera bags.
VOLARE of Hong Kong took the final award for Best in Marketing and Promotions for its presentation of its buyer-friendly “Choose Your Own Colours” marketing concept for its footwear and bag collections.
The next Best of APLF Awards will be held during the Materials, Manufacturing & Technology and Fashion Access fairs from March 31 to April 2, 2014, in Hong Kong.
