JBS builds bridges in communities

24/09/2013
Brazilian packer and tanning group JBS has launched a project with a neighbourhood association as part of a wider strategy to build relationships in communities in which it operates and contribute to their sustainable development.

It has teamed up with ‘Amigos do Bairro do Jaguari’ to fund training in leathercraft and handiwork to boost skills of local women and enable them to generate income from the finished products. The women can also gain professional qualifications through the scheme.

JBS is providing financial support for the project in Santana de Parnaíba in the state of São Paulo as well as raw material, volunteers and the promotion of the project along with its customers, partners and suppliers.
