New leather laboratories for Turkey

23/09/2013
The leather sector in Turkey has said it will complete the construction of two dedicated leather testing laboratories in 2014.

These new facilities will help Turkish tanners make sure the leather they produce meets the quality and safety standards demanded by the European Union.

Based on the work of international organisations such as CTC and BLC, the new Turkish laboratories will test leather samples for formaldehyde, phthalates and other residual toxic chemicals.
