Paris Hilton lends support to leathergoods fair

Socialite Paris Hilton, owner of an eponymous leathergoods brand which has 44 stores in 40 countries, was guest of honour at Milan-based leathergoods fair Mipel this week, promoting her brand as it looks to boost business in Europe.

The year fair saw a continuation of the layout change introduced at the last edition, with the floor divided into four zones, and with a new photography studo where companies could make use of models and photogrpahers and display the images as part of their marketing.

Of 338 exhibitors at the four-day fair - its 104th edition - 219 were Italian, with India (44) and Spain (18) also well represented.
